About the Lancashire Heeler Community website
This site has been created for the benefit of Lancashire Heeler owners and breeders seeking to protect, build and support this vulnerable breed. As I write this I have just learned that the AHT have now managed to develop a DNA test that will help all of us to make better breeding decisions to prevent the pain and suffering caused by PLL. This is exciting news indeed and bodes well for what is otherwise a very healthy, intelligent breed full of character and fun.
This site is provided for the benefit of all. It is neither managed nor funded by The Lancashire Heeler Club, although a section of the site is provided for use by the club as agreed with them. No monies have been received or are sought for any aspect of this website.
The site is open to all to enjoy and contribute. Send in any pictures and articles you feel will be of interest to others and feel free to join us at fun days and enter competitions. Please note the terms and conditions for submitting material to the site. There are also plans for other Clubs at home and overseas to maintain their own pages of news here as the site progresses. If you have any ideas of pages you would like to see or to maintain please let me know.
Many people have contributed to the site whether that be, via recent surveys, feedback over the past few years, articles, photographs and anecdotes. As always there are far too many to mention all of them here, I am extremely grateful to the following for making contributions of material:
Jacky Cutler
Mike Forbes
Joan Huck
Eeva-Maija Lehtinen
Chris Norman
Tracy St. Clair Pearce
Hannie Warrendorf
Sarah Whybrow
Bill and Ginnette Simpson
and the very many owners and breeders whose names appear amongst the pages of this site.
