Traqdean Celebration Gallery

On 30th October 2011 the Lancashire Heeler community lost one of its greatest supporters and I, amongst many others, lost a dear friend. Like others, I learned much from Tracy and owe much to her. She had time for anyone that put dogs and their wellbeing first and no time for anyone that didn't and was very clear about preferring the company of dogs to people. It was her enduring and well known philosophy, understood and admired by all that knew her. I feel priveleged to have been able to spend time in her company, and more so that she called me a friend.

Tracy maintained her own page on this site and was a key influencer in setting up the Lancashire Heeler Pedigree Database and when I told her a few weeks ago that there were now quite a few Traqdeans that had been entered she told me (with a wagging finger!) that there should in fact be 150 Heelers on the database! There are, of course many other Traqdeans amongst the various rare breeds that Tracy championed and, at the request of friends and Tracy's brother 'Flip', I am putting a gallery here where pictures may be sent of ANY Traqdean animals in celebration of all that Tracy achieved. Please send any pictures that you'd like to add.

I feel really honoured to of met Tracy and to own a Heeler bred by her. Please see attached a picture of my gorgeous Traqdean boy, kindest regards Emma Hewett

This is Mac and Daphne, we got Mac at nine weeks old, Daphne was just turned six years old and Tracy had finished breeding from her. They are both wonderful a real credit to Tracy.
  • Traqdean Celebration: Ulric - Helen Paris
Here is a picture of the lovely Ulric (Traqdean D'Ulric) who is the absolute light of our life and I remember well the 'interview' we had with Tracy last year. She had forgotten more about Heelers than I will ever know. She is sorely missed.
  • Traqdean Celebration: Basil - Gemma Smith
This is another picture of Traqdean Ethan aka Basil in 2010, after i had been seriously ill we had a trip on a the broads He was great fun even though I was sad and down he kept a smile on my face. Thanks to Tracey as I would have never discovered this breed alone. I do spread the word though how wonderful they are!
  • Traqdean Celebration: Basil - Gemma Smith
I am extremely lucky to have met Tracey a person completely after my own heart. Prefering animals to humans. She introduced me to the Lancashire Heeler breed and I have been hooked ever since Traqdean Ethan ( Basil ) is my boy he is amazing loving and loyal. I have had the pleasure of owning all sorts of breeds but I firmly believe there is no other breed of dog to compare to a heeler. So pleased to have found your website as i am interested in showing Basil just really to share his nature and personality
  • Traqdean Celebration: Hally - Chris Wray
I will always be hugely indebted to Tracy, who loaned me her very precious Hally (Ionian Extreme - purebred Morgan) for Hally's 3 best years. Hally gave me everything she had (and hugely enjoyed it in the process!) - took me to Advanced endurance and into the thrill of riding in FEI (international) classes. Tracy also bred our 2 fabulous adult Lancashire Heelers, and inspired us to show them - just made 2 entries for Crufts! The photo I'm submitting is my favourite one of Tracy and is of Tracy and Hally back in March 2011 when Hally was very much in-foal. Tracy was thrilled with Hally's foal, but fairly soon had to relinquish them. Hally and Honey are now with Hilary, and I had a wonderful visit to them last month.

Tracy St Clair Pearce (Traqdean)

Tracy St Clair PearceTracy lost her courageous battle with cancer on Sunday 30th October in the same dignified manner that she had lived her life.  Her tragic death will have come as a great shock to many of her friends, as she had kept the extent of her illness to just a few close friends and family.  Her last show was at Darlington, where despite being in much pain and discomfort she managed to take both the Reserve CCs with Traqdean Midlops Movie Toto and Ch Jazz Mustang Sally Traqdean (Imp Fin), as well as Best Puppy with Jackson (Bellsmond Dancing Shadow in Traqdean) for whom she had great hopes.  Jackson was bred by the late Lyn Bell, who we also tragically lost to cancer earlier this year.  At Paignton Tracy achieved her ambition to make up her Finnish bitch Jazz, who was the first import to become a UK Champion.  Toto is on two CCs and Tracy badly wanted to see him made up, but sadly it was not to be.

However Tracy’s proudest achievement was the success of Ch Traqdean Vidaloca Florence ShCM, who became the Bitch CC record holder on twenty tickets, including taking the Bitch CC at Crufts in 2010.  Traqdean dogs have won many top awards in this country and abroad and a full list of their achievements can be seen on her breeder page on the Lancashire Heeler Community website.

Tracy was also a very active member of the Lancashire Heeler Community Welfare Fund, never hesitating to help any Heelers in need, and spending many hours transporting and caring for any dogs that came through Welfare.  More recently Tracy agreed to take on the position of Chairman of the Lancashire Heeler Association (Proposed), which she undertook with great pride and commitment, as she did with anything that she took on.

Aside from the Heelers Tracy had also been a very successful breeder of Rottweilers, as well as running a herd of rare pedigree Shetland Cattle, helping the breed go from near extinct status to a gene pool of over 300 breeding cows in less than twenty years.  She also kept purebred Morgan horses, and her mare Hally was an Endurance Riding Champion.  Earlier this year she bred Hally’s daughter Honey and owned two rescued mares Megan and Misty who had previously been very badly treated.

Despite her illness, Tracy never lost her sense of humour, and stayed strong and in full control of her animals, making sure they were all taken care of before she allowed herself to go into a hospice to get the care she desperately needed towards the end.  Tracy also wanted it to be known how grateful she was to all her friends who rallied round in her time of need and allowed her to remain at home for so long surrounded by the animals she loved.

The funeral will take place at Colchester Crematorium, Mersea Road, Colchester CO2 8RU, on Monday 14th November at 12.30pm.

By family request no flowers please. Instead donations may be made to the Lancashire Heeler Community Welfare Fund via Sarah Whybrow.

If anyone wishes to send a card they may do so c/o Sarah Whybrow, Virginia House, Mill Road, Foxley, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 4QT, and they will be passed on to the family.  All enquiries regarding anything to do with any of her dogs should also be addressed to Sarah, email sarah@whybrow.wanadoo.co.uk or mobile 0790 990 1410.
