Michael Trafford is a professional photographer with more than 35 years experience.
Although Michael is known to us mainly through the Lancashire Heeler photographs we have seen it should be said that he is much more widely known throughout the dog world having built an impressive portfolio of photographs of literally hundreds of breeds. His coverage of high profile shows has long included international status having covered shows as far as Russia and Australia. His portfolio also contains impressive works encompassing birdlife and scenes of natural beauty.

Personal recommendation

The recommendation placed here is based upon personal experience. A show phootograph of a dog that is well trained to stand still is one thing. Taking beautiful photographs of dogs in a natural pose by getting to know the dog and capturing the moment is a gift coupled with skill and hard work. My own Heelers are far from compliant subjects and I was thrilled with the results achieved. The pictures opposite were all taken in one session.
It was with great pleasure to learn that Michael stil offers his 'visiting session' service where he will travel from his home in the borders to take photographs. Details of current costs are given on this page and where several owners join forces to cover expenses it becomes a good way to get some very memorable photographs.
