Lancashire Heeler Club News 2007
Discover Dogs November 2007
Discover Dogs at Earls Court gives the public the opportunity to spend time with almost 190 breeds and chat with knowledgeable breeders.
This year, as usual, the Discover Dogs event went very well with the Heelers receiving more than their share of attention!!!!
We had 5 dogs present, Bill (15), Sparkey (10), Dillys (almost 8), Kandy (5) and Flora (4). They did their usual excellent work, with much tail wagging & grinning. Dillys spent her time displaying the underside of the Heeler, & requiring several tickles to her tum. The dogs were photographed non stop over both days of the event, often we had photographers queuing to get a shot. The Time Out magazine took photos of Jackie Reid, myself & my son Sean after the parade of vulnerable breeds. We were all still in costume.

Russiatree Canbegood - Junior Warrant Success
A Junior Warrant is a big achievement by any standard and it was with good reason that Jean Owen was effervescent at the Lancashire Heeler Club show when she told me the news that their home bred girl, Alice, had gained this prestigous award. Alice is only 18 months old and is out of Doddsline Couldbegood for Russiatree and by Doddsline Revil.
The award requires 25 points and Alice has managed to accummulate 29, at both Open and Championship shows, in less than a year. She is only the second Heeler to gain the award since the introduction of the new points system.
I am still awaiting a photo of Alice but couldn't wait any longer to congratulate her and Jean and David Owens on their success. Perhaps a change of name is imminent - 'Russiatree Hasdonegood'!?

Southern Lancashire Heeler Owners - Heeler Hike
The success of the recent get together of The Southern Lancashire Heeler Owners has led to the group formalising to meet more often with the aim of providing fun, friends, and support for all Lancashire Heeler owners!
They have now launched a new website. For full details of the group and all activities visit this new Lancashire Heeler site.
Southern Lancashire Heeler Owners - Heeler Hike
The Southern Lancashire Heeler Owners had their first walk on Sunday the 13th May 07. It was a truly 'English weather day'! Thirty owners with 15 Heelers, plus 4 other four-legged friends, braved the pouring rain and a bikeathon, to walk the beautiful forest tracks at the Look Out Discovery Centre at Bracknell. Fortunately, since a navigator was one of the party, we did the walk in roughly one hour as I suspect you could spend hours there without trying.
Those not drenched went back to a local hall for tea and cake where donations totaling £30 were collected for the DNA test. Photos have been posted on our website. A big thank you to all who attended.

"Tra la la la la la ..........with apologies to Bony M!"
Having not shown recently, Liver and tan Lancashire Heeler,Chloe (Doddsline Chloe B 15.7.2006 Br Johnston Doddsline Daniel Doddsline Gina) made a big comeback at Woking.
She won AVNSC Pastoral Puppy, AV Pastoral Puppy and AV Best Puppy in well entered classes.
Her brother Lonnie (Doddsline Marlon D 15.7.20
06 Br Johnston Doddsline Daniel Doddsline Gina) didn't do too badly either with a respectable third in Minor AVNSC Pastoral Puppy and third in AV Pastoral Puppy.
Their playmate Tiggie (Troutop Galaxy D 6/6/05 Br Gordon Mongrel's Outlaw-Oliver Doddsline Gabrielle) also cruised home with a third in AVNSC Pastoral Special Yearling and a second in AV Pastoral Special Yearling.

Horsham Open Show
BROWN RULES OK!
After wining the open class, Jackie Cartlege went on to 4th in Group and Linda Forbes to 4th puppy in Group. What a success story for the Heelers!
Jackie's Foxthyme Oliver Cromwell looked particularly handsome, oozing confidence and style! The Forbes' Doddsline
Marlon took the puppy class before yet again achieving advancement to Group. The Gordons' Troutop Lottie achieved a well deserved win in Post Graduate.
All in all a good turnout for judge Mrs Ziman (Fargaze).
Well done to all on their results.
