Lancashire Heelers

VD (4) The first three all amazingly youthful 12 year olds. 1 Cutler's Lankeela Legend Hasit, what a character, game for anything, on the tiptoe of expectation & zoomed around the ring like a teenager, lovely size & bone, super condition, has retained his lovely head, eyes & expression, was a worthy winner; 2 Lowe & Siggers' Ch Yedlie Basil at Bowanne, another brought into the ring in pristine condition, groomed to perfection, in the firmest of bodies, so well ribbed. Perhaps a tad longer in loin than 1 but still cruised around the ring full of self belief & importance. Has kept a youthful eye & expression; 3 Reid's Doddsline Sparky, this little chap must be a joy to show, ever so responsive, lovely size & good reach of neck, pleasing head. Eye now a little full but keen as mustard in expression.

PD (3) 1 BP, Lowe & Siggers' Foxthyme Jenson, lovely example of the type continually produced by this renowned kennel, has an air of style & class about him, loved his head balance, the eyes, ears & his keen expression, has a good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, such good forelegs & his backline is level, tail perfectly set & carried, moved out so well, reach, drive & purpose, a bright future I'm sure; 2 Simpson's Simonsville Hurley, that little bit longer cast but still a handsome youngster. Scores in eyes & expression, lovely flat skull with good length of foreface. Has a more than useful neck, well angulated & he acquits himself so well on the go around. Just needs to settle a bit in front; 3 Bridger & Felstead's Foveaux Nero, appealing expression even although his foreface is a shade short in length. Liked his level back, well set tail & as he circled the ring he used himself well. Front quite weak & needs to tighten in pastern.

JD (3) 1 Walton's Telpoolwyn Yushua, bags of swank with this chap, poses like a model & his attraction is enhanced by the richness of his colours. Lovely size, nicely bodied with good outline, ample bone & just enough bend of stifle. Can be a little erratic on the move but his type won the day; 2 S Hurley; 3 Baker's Dakota Angelus, a little overdone in length of back & front feet just have a little to much play both in stance & on the move. His head is a good length, sufficient stop, flat skull. Eyes could be a little smaller. In excellent condition & has a free side action.

PGD (6) 1 Dawes' Lancypat Just Bobby, ears a bit unsettled otherwise his head has appeal, being balanced with a good foreface & well shaped eyes which could be a tad darker. However, he scores in reach of neck, well developed ribcage, firm backline & having the smoothest side action in the class, another in pristine coat; 2 Whybrow & St Clair Pearce's Traqdean Grems Ilya with Sarcasha, this slightly too compact little chap was absolutely full of himself. Nice flat skull, lovely eyes. Would like a little longer muzzle for balance. Enough neck, level backline, what a lovely tailset & carriage. Enthusiastic on the move, could be a little firmer in hock going away; 3 Green's Doddsline Mr Sam, up to size & his being fairly long in loin does not help. Has such very good head planes, super temperament, balanced angulations & moves around the ring with a light, free stride.

LD (12,2a) 1 Simpson's Mcheel's Hugh-G at Simonsville, lots to admire in this handsome dog, correct size, lovely type, scores in head, reach of neck & outline, level back & well set tail, went around the ring with such a brisk stride & attitude. Lost out in the challenge as there is just too much play in his pasterns; 2 Ingram's Lancypat Just Barnie, another which must appeal, especially in head shape, eyes & expression, he just has that 'look', well laid shoulder. Bit steep in upper arm. So well ribbed with a good rump & tailset. Just a little short in hind angulation so even although he is sound in action, he just doesn't cover so much ground as 1. Flawless in coat; 3 Bellinger's Traqdean Kizzies Denzal at Heelstone, another at the lower end of the height scale but he is handsome in expression having a really well shaped head, his length/height proportions are so good, in good body & his coat shone. Never really extended himself on the go around.

OD (11,1) The best class of the day & it took some sorting out. 1 CC & BOB, Norman's Ch Normansville Lone Star, all male, very good head, the skull amply wide & flat, good stop, super foreface, never stops using his ears to advantage, scores in reach of neck, having a good spring of rib, level back & well set tail. Little play in pasterns but no weakness as whichever way you watch him moving he looks the part. Immaculate in body condition & he never let up trying to please his handler, very worthy ch; 2 Cartledge & Lord's Ch Foxthyme Oliver Cromwell, richly hued liver with so much to admire, he is ultra sound, has a beautiful shape, balanced, has substance, spotless jacket, perfect mouth & is a joy to watch moving. While his head planes are good, would just like him to be a size smaller all over to complete the picture but his listed attributes got him the RCC; 3 Jones' Ch Welshmoor Father Jack, another so worthy ch & at first I thought he would be the RCC winner. Liked almost everything about him & he is so sound. Unfortunately in stance he kept dipping behind the withers looking as though he had just lost a saddle & it didn't help his cause. Pity as he has lots to admire.

GCD (3) 1 Ch N Lone Star; 2 Dawes' Lancypat Just Jackson, nice size & shape, coat a bit rough. Pleasing head, perhaps a little short in muzzle length. Nice size & substance, enough angulation, moved out with smooth stride; 3 Spooner's Colnestar Volare for Audaxus, charming little chap, could have more weight of bone for his sex & the skull could be flatter, but he has a charm in his eyes & expression, moves out so happily.

VB (4) 1 Cartledge & Lord's Ch Leonine Ivy of Ryslip, what a charmer, personality plus, ultra feminine & moves out with such style & gusto, delightful head, eye & expression, coat shining & never lets up showing, one to remember; 2 Cutler's Lankeela Happy Heather, another really smart bitch, this black tried her heart out, moved as well as 1, has retained her shapely outline & youthful figure; 3 Norman's Normansville Idaho, pretty headed liver, really well developed ribcage, excellent front, firm in back & she is a lovely size. Not quite the coat condition of those above her.

PB (3) 1 St Claire Pearce's Traqdean Just Chinook, nice type of baby but needs ring training on the table where she is such a fidget. Quality in head, excellent eyes & ears, nice reach of neck & backline, once settled is quite sound in action; 2 Simpson's Bellinda Bell by Simonsville, another nice puppy, not yet come together & looks a trifle long cast. Pleasing head, skull flat & sufficient stop. Good front action but needs to firm up a little going away; 3 Bellinger's Foveaux Narla at Heelstone, there could have been few better coated & conditioned than this charmer. Sweet eye & expression, willing showgirl. Just a bit on the leg & the pasterns could be tighter.

JB (5) 1 Flanagan's Trapsyke Pandemonium, no questioning the sex of this one, oozes femininity, lovely eyes & expression, looks the part in stance, super neck & backline, lovely coat, non stop showgirl. Would benefit from having more bone but I forgave that for her sheer charm & stylish action; 2 Coleman's Nakota Leap Of Faith for Jazeeler, don't know about leap of faith as Jill in the Box would have been appropriate with this live wire. On the go all the time & doesn't do herself justice on the move where he keenness makes her move wide behind. Nice skull, muzzle a trifle short in length, beautifully expressive eyes, nice body length & well coated. Has the game for anything look; 3 Bailey's Bellsmond Dorothy, built on heavier lines than the two above her. Lovely reach of neck & backline, very well ribbed, pleasing head. Sound side one but moving away she was quite wide.

PGB (9) 1 Playle's Foxthyme Paris, heaps to like about this quality bitch, sheer type hits you first, her head, eyes & expression so worthy of comment, well set on neck, nice shoulders & upper arm, level back. Perhaps could be a little shorter coupled. Good bend of stifle & well let down hocks, her side & true front action impressed; 2 St Clair Pearce's Traqdean Troopin Lola, pretty headed bitch who scores heavily in eye & expression although could perhaps have a shade more muzzle length to finish the picture. Of good construction, owns a non stop wagging tail & was determined to cover as much ground as possible on the move; 3 Felstead's Foveaux Mazin Maisie, another non stop show girl who pulled out all the stops, lots to like, nice size & substance, sturdy in body, ample neck & a good backline. Just a little lacking in angulation both ends, but she uses what she has to good purpose & looks balanced in action.

LB (8) 1 Taylor's Simonsville Yule Time, what a lovely size & shape this liver is, well boned & ribbed, good head, flat in skull, lovely expression, well rounded foreface & a decent reach of neck, good angulation & lovely feet, her profile action showed ground cover & purpose; 2 Cutler's Lankeela Tutti Frutti, black who could do with losing some weight but despite that moves around the ring with great gusto. Liked her head, so balanced, beautiful expression, sufficient neck & well laid shoulder; 3 Jones' Swanndale Black Dahlia at Herwr, another who disappointed as at first glance she looked the likely winner. Lovely make & shape, good wither height, well ribbed & bodied, very good head. However, she was miserable as sin in expression & while sound enough, there was no brisk, easy stride, she just went through the motions.

OB (8,1) What a class. 1 CC, Whybrow & St Clair Pearce's Ch Traqdean Vidaloca Florence, one I have loved in the past when I waxed eloquently about her virtues, now in her eighth year she has a class that can't be disguised, has retained her beautiful head, the eyes still youthful & she has an expression which even her hardest critics would have to admire. I know her topline in stance is now a bit slack but once she was asked to move, it tightened up & she just flowed around that ring with real attitude. Her sheer magnetism & personality won the day over another top class bitch; 2 RCC, Lord's Ch. Foxthyme Eliza, quite a different personality & while she handled well enough on the table, she was tense, the body rigid & she leant away from me. A top class example of the breed, super head, so well constructed with good bone & lovely front. Her backline is better than Florence's on the stack but she was less outgoing in the final line-up & the charisma of Flo won the day; 3 Jones' Ch Doddsline Daffodil at Welshmoor, another so worthy titleholder & in stunning condition. Was close up but I felt the two above her just had the better head balance having that little more length of muzzle but she has charm in spades & her sheer quality added to a lovely line-up.

GCB (4) 1 Spooner's Audaxus Ma Chere Rhea, thought her the best for sheer type & moves out with balance & purpose, pleasing head & eyes. Muzzle a shade short; 2 Lagonegro's Davigar Lady Padme at Giandani, liked the head balance of this good bitch, blessed with a soft expression from the darkest of eyes & good ears. Just needs to lose some weight over the ribcage; 3 Cutler's Lankeela Top Totty, 6 years & just a bit light in bone. Very active on the move, nicely ribbed, bright expression & very good ears. A shade wide going away compared to those above her.
