Happy Lancashire Heelers!

Lancashire Heeler, Ainsley, happy and active in his new home

There is no greater sight than a happy Lancashire Heeler. This is Ainsley, who recently travelled to Finland to be with new owner Anna Niiranen. Clear evidence that he is more than happy in his new home!

The Lancashire Heeler smile is a sought after trait and so very difficult to capture on camera. Lancashire Heeler Lola demonstrates that happiness comes in Lancashire Heeler shaped parcels

This is Traqdean Troopin Lola showing that if you smile the Heeler world smiles with you. If there are any more Lancashire Heeler smile photos out there, send them to me and we'll start a collection.

The Lancashire Heeler

Lancashire Heeler CH Man in Black - Crufts B.O.B. 2006Lancashire Heelers ....

sometimes called Ormskirk Heelers, were originally bred to help butchers drive their cattle to and from the markets. Ideal for this task these fast, Lancashire Heelers which are low, little dogs are very agile and quick to avoid being kicked by angry cows.

It is thought that the Lancashire Heeler is descended from a 'meeting' of the Welsh Corgi and the Manchester Terrier and the stature and markings of these intelligent, energetic dogs certainly indicate that may be the case although there is no concrete evidence of this. The Lancashire Heeler is the smallest English herding dog and it belongs to the Pastoral Group.

A number of people have contacted me about the requirements for submitting photographs and articles to the site. I am now compiling a Frequently Asked Questions page to provide information on this and any other areas of the site.

Lancashire Heelers and Discover Dogs at Earls Court and Crufts

If anybody has any photographs of Lancashire Heelers in different situations such as with children, herding cattle and any other activity, I would be very pleased to have them for the Discover Dogs stand.

They have to be of good quality as I wish to enlarge them for A4, or even better, A3. I can either scan from a print and enlarge or take form a CD. If you email them the quality is diminished.
Thank-you
