Lancashire Heeler Club Committee Elections

The Committee consists of three Officers and nine Committee Members, all of whom serve for three years.  To ensure continuity within the Committee, one Officer and three Committee Members will be elected each year.  If any vacancies arise during the three year term members may be co-opted to fill these places until the following AGM, when they may stand for election if they so wish, however they will only be in office until the remainder of the original term of office expires.

At the next AGM we will have a vacancy for both the Secretary and Treasurer positions, both having been co-opted during the year.  The position of Secretary will be for three years to 2013 and the Treasurer will have one year remaining of the three year term to 2011.

Although this year some of the current Committee Members are willing to stand for re-election, there will be five Committee vacancies, some due to resignations, and some due to members taking on Officer positions, one member having taken on the role of Treasurer and another co-opted member having taken on the role of Secretary.

These vacancies will be for differing terms of office, to ensure continuity within the committee.  Therefore one position will be until 2011, two until 2012 and three will be for the full term of three years until 2013.  These vacancies will be filled according to the number of votes cast for each candidate, with those receiving the highest number of votes taking the three year positions.

Proposals for Committee have to be sent in writing to the Secretary at least twenty-eight days before the date of the AGM, which this year will be held on 23rd May 2010.  All candidates have to be proposed and seconded and give their consent to the proposal in writing, and must have been a fully paid up member of the Club for the thirty-six months preceeding the date of the election.
